RETAKES

Applicants interested in retaking an exam must wait 90 days after their original test date. Applicants must contact their local IC&RC Member Board to schedule an exam retake.

    TEST DISCLOSURE

IC&RC’s exam security and item banking procedures do not permit applicants access to exam questions, answer keys, or other secure materials related to the examination.

If applicants have questions or comments about a specific exam question, the “Comment on This Question” button should be utilized during the exam. Applicant comments will be reviewed for consideration, but the applicant will not be contacted about their comments.

    EXAMINATION GRIEVANCE

If an applicant believes an unusual event or condition during the administration of their exam significantly affected their performance, a grievance can be submitted if it was not submitted electronically after the exam.

Grievances must be submitted within 14 calendar days of the exam, in writing, and must be dated and signed. The following information must be included with the grievance:

    • Title of exam
    • Examination date
    • Name and location of testing center
    • Name of proctor (if known)
    • Detailed explanation of the situation
    • Impact the situation had on the exam performance

Grievances must be submitted to SMT-OperationsTeam@prometric.com.

Prometric will investigate the specifics of the testing situation. If warranted, the applicant is offered a free retake. An exam grievance cannot challenge the design or content of an exam, nor overturn a failing score. Applicants who are offered a free retake will be refunded their grievance fee.

    APPEALS

Examination scores are final and cannot be appealed. However, applicants may request a second verification of their score within 30 calendar days of taking the exam. To do this, applicants must complete the Hand Score Request Form. IC&RC’s testing company will hand score the exam against the master key and send the results directly to the applicant. There is a fee for this service.
