IC&RC, the world leader in addiction-related credentialing, is currently accepting applications for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to serve on the Prevention Specialist (PS) committee. The role of this committee is to help with the continued development and maintenance of IC&RC’s PS program.
This volunteer position gives individuals the opportunity to provide direct input on what content should be tested on IC&RC’s PS examination. It is an excellent opportunity for professional growth and networking. CEs are also awarded for certain activities.
Committee members will work with IC&RC to develop and maintain IC&RC’s PS program. Potential activities include developing new examination questions, reviewing draft forms of the examination, and participating in the Job Analysis process.
We are now accepting applications for the 2019 committee. The deadline for applying is January 31st. Complete the on-line application here: https://form.jotform.com/rrwitmer/2019-ps-committee-application.
Please note, a resume, in PDF format, will be required to submit your application.
Individuals selected to sit on the committee will be notified early in February.
Requirements to serve on the committee:
- Hold a current Prevention Specialist credential through an IC&RC member board
- Actively working as a Prevention Specialist
- Have between 2-10 years of experience working as a Prevention Specialist
- Possess intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Ability to complete self-directed, independent assignments
- Ability to participate in quarterly committee calls
Time Commitment and Responsibilities:
The committee will meet via webinar quarterly.
In addition to the quarterly calls, committee members will be asked to participate in various test and credential development activities throughout the year. Activities can be remote or live events.
Committee members will be sent an activity invitation well in advance with an overview of the activity, responsibilities, and time commitment. They are then able to accept or decline on a case-by-case basis as their schedule allows.
Most activities will be done during normal business hours. As such, we highly recommend individuals get supervisor permission to apply.
Compensation:IC&RC does not provide monetary compensation to SMEs. However, CEs are provided for the renewal of a PS credential for the time spent on some projects.
